Founded by Sayf Hassan in October of 2008, the inaugural project by Symmetry Developments was called Linea on Bayview, located just north of Sheppard Avenue East in North York. The 11 unit luxury townhouse development featured ultra-modern townhouses from approximately 2,700 sf to 2,900 sf designed by Teeple Architects. The interiors were exquisitely designed by DK Studio, and when the project completed in 2011, they were awarded with a Toronto Urban Design Award.

In 2011, Symmetry launched Hive, a high-style boutique condominium on The Queensway, east of Islington Avenue in Etobicoke. The 6-storey, 20 unit project was immediately a hit, selling over half of the units within one month. With little advertising and pricing well in excess of the competition, Hive was able to sell quickly by offering a wider range of common area amenities.

Symmetry set its sights on downtown Toronto in late 2012 with the launch of Origami, one of the most architecturally stunning projects to come to market in Toronto. The 7-storey, 23 unit project was lauded with praise and purchasers agreed, as more than half of the units sold during the first two months on the market. The Globe and Mail’s architecture critic, John Bentley Mays, described the project as “a cascade of blue zinc cladding spills from the penthouse level over the lower volume, bending and tucking under (like origami) as it nears the tall, glassed-in retail space at grade”.

Symmetry Developments strives to develop residential projects that are singularly bold, urban and striking. Symmetry aims to create sustainable spaces that endure and enrich the communities within which they exist.
