Fall 2018 - Construction Update

As we head into the winter months, our team went on location to catch up on the construction progress at some of our partner sites across Toronto. The stages of construction range from recently occupied to site servicing works.

The Harlowe

Occupancy at the Harlowe began in the summer of 2018. The lobby space has been completed and the team is putting final finishes on the remaining common spaces. The ground floor retail space will be the home of the first Toronto location of Vancouver’s acclaimed fine dining restaurant Bauhaus. The restaurant is slated to open in the spring of 2019. Lotus

Residents began occupying units in Lotus, across Bayview Village, earlier this summer. The 12-storey condominium is 100% sold out and construction is ongoing to finish out the amenity spaces and complete the landscaping around the building. (Partner: Chestnut Hill Developments)

 

King Square

Most of the exterior work has been completed at the new massive Asian themed mall in Markham. SkyGrid, the builder on the project, is continuing work to finish the interiors while tenants have begun outfitting their stores. With opportunities to buy or lease a unit, over 200 units in this large retail space have been sold. Unionvillas

First occupancies at this exclusive three-acre townhouse community in Central Markham took place earlier this year. Exterior construction is nearing completion on the final block of homes and interior finishing is underway. The project is anticipated to be completed this winter. (Partner: Sunrise Homes)

 

Solterra

Fortress became involved in this project in its later phases. Most recently, the servicing works are complete in Phase 4B-1 and road bases are scheduled to be completed this month. Servicing works in Phase 4B-2 are underway and are scheduled to be complete by the end of 2018. Construction of homes in these phases is expected to begin early next year as the project remains on schedule. For information on purchasing a home in this development, visit the Solterra website. Platform Condos

At Platform Condos (also sold out), excavation began earlier this year. The crane foundation has been poured and the completion of excavation and shoring will extend into Spring 2019. Regular photo updates from the site can be found on www.platformcondos.ca. (Partner: Sierra Building Group)
